COLWALL finished off their home Severn division one programme with a fine 7-0 against Cheltenham Civil Service at Ledbury Leisure Centre on Saturday.
COLWALL WHC 7, CHELTENHAM CS 0
Colwall opened the scoring when Gemma Richards ran down the right, drove into the goal area and crossed to Nicky Glover, who slipped the ball past the Cheltenham CS goalkeeper. The second goal was a carbon copy, giving Colwall a 2-0 lead at half-time.
It was a case of dj vu in the second half, when Richards and Glover combined on three further occasions to give Colwall a 5-0 lead.
Cheltenham CS produced a late flurry to put the Colwall defence under some pressure, but Colwall broke their resistance when Richards crossed again to Glover. Her shot was saved by the keeper, but Coral Handley was on hand to score from the clearance. Handley finished off a good day for Colwall when she scored her second goal from yet another cross from Richards to give Colwall their biggest league win of the season.
Colwall's final league match is a rearranged game against Bretforton IIs at Prince Henry's School, Evesham tomorrow (Saturday), starting at 11am.
