TWO crowd-pleasing tries between the posts scored by Tom Sandry kept Malvern in this gritty encounter until the last whistle.

WOLVERHAMPTON U13S 32PTS, MALVERN RFC U13S 21PTS

Sandry juggled with the ball from an intercepted Wolves pass to run from the half way line in a terrific piece of individual flair and pace. This was followed shortly afterwards by another touch of magic, with Sandry on an accelerating run from deep in the Malvern half. He cut through the Wolverhampton defences, to touch down again and to close the Wolverhampton lead by a single point at half-time. Both tries were converted by Ed Harris, who was also instrumental in setting up a try for Jonathan Marriott early in the second-half.

Throughout the half, the Malvern were forced to defend their own try line, holding up three scoring attempts successfully and forcing back a series of attacking scrums. Malvern remained steadfast under pressure, with rock solid defence and try-saving tackles executed by wingers Jonathan Bartlett and Jonathan Marriott.

However, in the last five minutes, Wolverhampton's pressure paid off as Malvern began to tire and the hosts stole two quick unconverted tries to win the game 32-21.
