KIDDERMINSTER Ladies had mixed emotions after last weekend's Worcestershire First Division double header ended with a victory and a defeat.

Player-of-the-match Kate Jones, Amy Grove, Rachael Wills and Kerry Venskus were all on target in the 4-0 win over Badsey.

But despite leading twice with goals from Wills and Kay McDonald at home to Harborne fourths, they ended up losing 4-2.

They now have a break until Saturday, April 1 when they host Old Sils seconds.

l Kidderminster's young first team squad faced a tough learning curve when they were hammered 12-1 and 8-2 by the West Midlands Premier Division's top two Solihull Blossomfield and Finchfield at the weekend.

All Kidderminster had to show for their efforts against leaders Solihull was Chris Bagley's consolation goal while Isaac Newman broke his knuckle to add insult to injury.

And they were outclassed again on Sunday at second-placed Finchfield despite Andy Pocknell opening the scoring and Matt Edwards netting at the start of the second half.

Kidderminster coach Simon Palmer deputised well between the posts with both regular goalkeepers unable to play.

Kidderminster will be hoping to bounce back in their final game of the season on Saturday when they entertain Stone at King Charles I High School pitch.
