Evesham U-14 5pts, Witney 38
EVESHAM went into the game full of confidence on the strength of a string of good results.
They put the visitors under immediate pressure and drove them back on a number of occasions but it was the visitors who scored first much against the run of play.
Witney tried to dominate the game in the forwards but good work from the Evesham pack kept them pinned in their own half.
Silly mistakes went on to prove costly at both ends of the pitch with the Oxfordshire outfit taking advantage of sloppy handling.
The second half was a different story all together with Evesham's forwards driving Witney off their own scrums.
The reward of a try finally came from a planned penalty move saw Joe Naylor break through the defence and the supporting Chris Patterson touched down.
Evesham were camped on the opposition line at the finish and the final scoreline doesn't reflect the home side's fine display.
