A TEENAGE girl was left shaken following an attempted robbery in Smallwood on Monday night.
The 17 year old girl was walking down Summer Street at 9.05pm when an Asian man approached her.
He asked her for money and then her mobile but when she refused, he pushed her to the ground before running off into Marsden Road.
The man was about 20, 5ft 9ins tall and of thin build. He had noticeable gaps between his teeth and high cheekbones.
He wore dark coloured sportswear with his hood up.
DC Simon Lammas said: "Nothing was actually stolen from the victim but she was understandably shaken by this experience, as well as suffering minor cuts and bruises as she fell.
"We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the man in the Smallwood area on Monday night to give police a call."
Anyone with information can call police on 08457 444 888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
