VANDALS scrawled graffiti on tables, drank communion wine and smashed candles in St Mary's Church, Alvechurch.
Wythall police are appealing for information following the incident, which happened sometime between 8pm on Tuesday, March 12 and 8.30am on March 15.
Other damage, totalling £900, included eating and throwing Fair Trade produce and breaking a window.
Sergeant Alex Wharton said: "These offences are shameful and officers are determined to leave no stone unturned in their efforts to find those responsible."
