REDDITCH councillors are still uncertain about the date of the demolition of property in Unicorn Hill and Hill Street, Redditch, and are not yet prepared to take action which will turn the remaining tenants out of the property.

At Monday's meeting of the Urban District Council's public work's committee, clerk Mr W Irving Watkins referred to a letter from the district valuer about the terms in which he should negotiate for the purchase of the property.

The district valuer said the owners of the property did not wish to sell until the council was in a position to go on with the demolition.

Mr W Irving Watkins said they would not get a compulsory purchase order until they were in a position to go ahead.

It was agreed to recommend the council leave the matter in abeyance for the time being.
