DESPITE their manager's warning against letting an anti-climactic season 'peter out' Studley slipped to a poor 3-0 defeat at Romulus on Saturday.
Bees manager Kevin Rowlands picked the right weekend to be unavailable, leaving assistant manager Trevor Whittington to pick over the bones of another defeat before giving Rowlands a post mortem.
"Trevor was disappointed with the second-half display," said Rowlands, who expected to be back in the hotseat for the planned visit of Oldbury United last night (Tuesday).
"Apparently we were unlucky to go a goal down after a good first half but I'm told the second half was a no-show.
"We don't want the season to just peter out and end up with us not improving on last year. Last time we finished with five or six clubs below us and we want to better that.
Studley are back on the road for their next two fixtures, at Stratford Town on Saturday (ko 3pm) and at Westfields on Tuesday (ko 7.45pm).
Alliance neighbours Alvechurch drew 0-0 at Racing Club Warwick on Saturday, following last week's 2-0 loss at promotion-chasing Stourbridge.
A run of home games was set to start with the planned rearranged visit of FA Cup heroes Chasetown last night (Tuesday). Tipton are the visitors on Saturday (ko 3pm) and Oldbury United on Tuesday (ko 7.45pm).
