A LIVE transatlantic debate was one of the highlights of an international sports week which was hosted by the University of Worcester.
Tutors from across the globe attended the School of Sport and Exercise Science's annual event, which provided students with an international perspective on sports science and physical education issues.
Lecturers from America, Norway, Hungary, Lithuania, Holland, Slovakia, Finland and Denmark Universities, were just some of the 15 visiting international participants.
Tutors from both Worcester and abroad gave a wide range of talks in sport and physical education, passing on their knowledge to more than 900 university sports science students. Thanks to the university's £3.5m investment in modern classroom technologies, Worcester students were able to take part in a live debate, with fellow sports students from Ball State University, Indiana, America.
Topics discussed included the history, philosophy and structure of student sport organisations in their respective countries. University senior lecturer and international liaison officer, Karen van Berlo said the week had an "extremely positive impact" on students.
"This week has a number of important aims, including stretching the boundaries of teaching, and strengthening our student exchanges."
