A PARTY of Russian business journalists has visited the University of Worcester as part of a tour of UK higher education institutions.
The nine journalists were hosted by the university's international department on the trip which was organised by the British Council.
The journalists, who work on business magazines and national newspapers in Russia, saw at first hand the university's cutting-edge digital arts, its high-tech 3D research technology, the work of its international pollen unit and its first-class education and nursing Facilities.
Journalist Svetlana Khorosheva, who works for Russian business paper, Delovoj Peterberg (Business Peterberg), said she was impressed with Worcester's specialist research centres.
"We were really interested in the digital technologies on offer, as it is an area that is only just emerging in Russian higher education," she said.
"Many younger people have a real interest in this subject area, so hopefully more universities will be able to offer courses like these in the future."
Catherine Hyde, international officer at the university, said: "The Russian journalists loved Worcester, and its great that this visit will play its part in putting the city and its university firmly on the international map."
