I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have supported the Save the Alex campaign. We have made a difference that has resulted in the saving of A&E trauma services. However paediatrics, maternity and gynaecology services are still at risk.

The trust's decision to delay any formal proposals until May/June shows it has been put under pressure to think again. We now await the outcome of consultation concerning the re-organisation of the regions Primary Care Trusts, Strategic Health Authorities and Ambulance Trusts, the results of which will be available in just a few weeks.

The campaign website, www.savethealex.co.uk, will be updated with information as and when news is available. We will be investigating partnerships with other health campaign groups and planning our next protest. For further information about the latest campaign news, visit the website.

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has failed to make any press statements since January.
