Feckenham Reserves 0 Droitwich Spa 2

DROITWICH cemented their place in the Midland Combination Division Two and strengthened their chances of a mid-table finish by seeing off a strong Feckenham side on Saturday.

A spectacular effort by Chris Hartshorne and a strike by Matt Jenkins ensured that Droitwich won their third match in a row and stretched their unbeaten run in league and cup competitions to five games.

The win, which increased Spa's points average, also moved Droitwich into seventh place, the highest manager Tom Goss's team has been all season. Spa seems on course to end a season spent battling relegation by finishing comfortably in mid-table.

The final league positions will be decided by points average per game after Himley Athletic resigned from the league on March 9.

Spa's boss said: "Feckenham are a good side but we have hit form at the right time. The lads have been brave to play in the same way all season and credit to them it's paying off."

In-form Droitwich play Continental Star Reserves at King George's pitches on Saturday, March 25 (2.45pm kick off).
