What have we become? Why do we stand for so much grief? As if an illegal war in a far-off, third-world country were not enough, as UK citizens we are forced to endure on a daily basis one scandal after another, from ever-increasing taxes to the great pensions swindle, all presided over by a political elite which has little relevance to the everyday lives of ordinary people.

Why, oh why, do we tolerate these parasites, who are so ready to profit from the toil of others? Why do we continue to suffer? Could it be that as individuals we are now so frightened by the prospect of personal debt that any will to resist has long been forgotten in the battle for survival? How long are we prepared to tolerate the intollerable before we march on the multi-headed monster that is the Westminster Parliament and demand change to a genuine system of government of the people, by the people FOR the people?

So many questions, yet so few answers - and so little opposition. Does no-one care any more? Is it me, or is everything falling apart? Is it not time that we all stood up and demanded an end to political dictatorships, of whatever persuasion?

Where is the messiah to lead us from this lifeless desert of existence into the promised land of lower community charges, reasonable fuel bills, pensions security and state-funded university tuition? Is there anyone out there? Does anyone, other than myself, care?

And now all that's off my chest, I'd best get back to the daily grind. After all, there's another frightening wave of bills/taxes/tuition fees on the horizon...
