SIMON Cleaver was the guest speaker at the March meeting on the subject of the restoration of the back-to-back houses in Birmingham.
A partnership between Birmingham Conservation Trust and the National Trust enabled the work to be completed in 2004. Four houses from the 1840s, 1870s, 1930s and 1970s tell the story of a family who lived during these times. He illustrated the talk with many slides showing the state of the site before work was started and the progression until completion.
A team of members including Jill Taylor, Christine Hickman-Smith, Sue Quibell and Sylvia Beardshaw had taken part in the County Quiz coming fourth out of 26 teams.
Christine Hickman-Smith reminded members about the craft show at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel, Bewdley, on May 15. We again supported 'Fairtrade' with Barbara Evans running a stall at the meeting.
The next meeting is on April 5 at Chaddesley Corbett Village Hall at 7.30pm.
