Forge Judo Club is delighted with its new training mat, which was bought with donations totalling £4,000.
The money was donated by the neighbourhood groups of Church Hill, Matchborough and Winyates and Arrow Vale Sports Centre.
Club organiser Sean Williams says the group would not have been able to continue without the cash boost.
"We really can't thank the four organisations enough - we are very grateful indeed," said the Walkwood Middle School sports teacher.
"I would particularly like to thank Tracey Healey at Arrow Vale Sports Centre who really made this possible."
The club, launched a year ago, runs every Friday from 5.30-7pm at Arrow Vale Sports Centre in Matchborough.
