BROMSGROVE Blaze savoured a satisfying weekend as it enjoyed double victories in the county and national leagues.
The A team playing in the Worcestershire under-18s League got the ball rolling by thrashing Pacer Pros 146-21.
They then completed a good weekend by defeating Milton Keynes 87-59 in the National League.
The under-18s county side made a great start against the Pacers in the first quarter, streaking 21 points ahead in the first quarter. This set the tone as Bromsgrove scored heavily.
Callum Bolsher top scored with 24 points, while Alex Lockwood (22) and Andy Barker (20) also kept Blaze in control.
With Dave Usherwood in good form this allowed Adam Beaumont (18), Luke Coffey (16), Guy Morris (14) and Lea Pankhurst (10) to get into double figures.
In the National League Blaze's team battled through a much tougher match but came out winners over Milton Keynes.
In the first quarter Blaze shook off a slow start and had Dan Knight on target three times, as they took a two-point lead over Milton Keynes.
Beaumont and Usherwood began to win rebounds and build a platform for Blaze to build on. With Luke Coffey dictating the play Blaze extended their lead 34-29.
In the second half Knight increased his tally by scoring an all time personal best for Blaze of 20 points. With Knight in good form the rest of the team defended solidly to fend off Milton Keynes.
