A BIG-hearted Redditch couple will be building houses and friendships in a Sri Lankan village devastated by the tsunami.
Ann Chandler and Colin Hornsby, of Hither Green Lane, are appealing for help in raising the £3,000 needed to take part in the house building project in Galle in May.
They are holding a disco on Friday at Life of Leisure gym in Alcester Street and tickets are available on 61432.
The money goes towards the building materials for the initiative, which is being run by charities Habitat for Humanity and UCB Ltd.
Miss Chandler, a trained life coach, said they were concerned about the lack of progress in rebuilding the village since the tsunami struck on Boxing Day 2004, devastating thousands of lives.
"We wanted to do something that will make a difference to these people's lives," she added.
"Our trip requires us to raise a minimum of £2,800, much of which goes toward actual building materials for the houses.
"We would be most grateful for any support you feel able to give, perhaps raising a few pounds sponsorship for us at your place of work, pub or club."
All are welcome and as well as dancing into the night there will be a raffle. They are looking for town businesses to donate prizes for the give away and also need clothes to wear on a building site.
