A LOCAL businessman will soon be lighting up Alcester with his unique lanterns.
Malcolm Cox was commissioned to make two solid copper Victorian streetlights by Warwickshire County Council as part of the work now being carried out to improve the town.
A skilled workman with 26 years experience in his trade, Mr Cox was asked to hand make the lights for his home town and they are due to be completed this week.
He said: "As a local businessman, it's nice to be able to do work on the regeneration work in Alcester. I'm proud I'm able to do this for the town I live in and that I was asked to do this."
He added: "I'm going to be putting a special effort into these ones."
