A FRUSTRATED mother claims that careless lorry drivers are making her life a living hell.

Mary Ayers is fed-up with articulated lorries repeatedly hitting the side of her home and said the most recent incident was the last straw.

The 38-year-old, who suffers from anxiety, has now vowed to stand outside her home in Hylton Road, Worcester, every morning until the drivers listen.

The lorries clip the side of her home as they turn into Elm Road, an access-only road off Hylton Road, to reach the back of AKW Medicare.

A spokesman for AKW Medicare has apologised and says the company is looking to relocate to new premises with better access as soon as possible.

Miss Ayers said last year the telephone wire was ripped down, the back garden fence has been pushed over, and on Wednesday, March 15, a lorry crashed into her wall resulting in a huge crack. She said: "I don't know why I have to put up with this.

"I've been through hell the past four years and my health is suffering, my life is in pieces because of this."

Miss Ayers, the mother of a son, John, aged 15, said that she will stand outside her home, or on the footpath opposite, between 7am and 9am every morning, waiting for the lorry drivers, until they listen to her complaints.

She said: "All I want is for them to take care and slow down so they don't smash into my house and if it takes me standing outside and stopping them, then that's what I'll do."

A spokesman for AKW Medicare said: "The vehicle which struck Miss Ayres' house was an independent carrier delivering goods.

"AKW Medicare is sincerely sorry that this incident occurred, the independent carriers insurers are dealing with the matter.

"AKW Medicare is already endeavouring to minimise the number of deliveries made by large vehicles to the site by renting temporary warehouse space at Leigh Sinton and Diglis."

He added that the company has commissioned a new warehouse in Droitwich, to which the business will be moved later this year but for the time being Elm Road is the only access onto the site for deliveries.
