SIR - If Bill Davison had ever experienced what it is to teach or to study while a school is being rebuilt around you he would not wish it for his worst enemies, let alone for his neighbours' children. The old Samuel Southall School in Merriman's Hill was rebuilt and re-named as Bishop Perowne during the 1980s.
It was a grim experience for all of us who lived through it.
M C POWELL,
Worcester.
