NEW upmarket homes earmarked for Diglis Basin have been were unveiled by Worcester City Mayor, Councillor Aubrey Tarbuck.
The plush apartments went on show at the weekend after he cut the ribbon to officially open the marketing suite of what is now known as Diglis Water.
People coming to see the exhibition were treated to a day of live entertainment, with a live jazz trio performing.
Visitors were offered the first chance to buy a home after reading brochures of the development and viewing models showing how it would eventually look.
The project is being seen as one of the West Midlands most exciting new homes regeneration projects.
Diglis Water is a 26-acre development on the east bank of the River Severn, and will eventually result in more than 450 new homes and apartments, as well as retail and leisure units.
The first phase of homes, known as Medina, comprises 48 one and two-bed apartments in an L-shaped three-storey building overlooking the canal basin.
About 390 homes will then follow, some of which will be town houses.
The project will result in repairs taking place to the canal basin and new look Severn banks, creating both private and public riverside parks.
The homes have underground parking and many will have terraces overlooking Worcester Cathedral.
