THE service at St Peter's Church last Sunday morning focussed on environmental issues. The service, compiled by Ian Gane, began with the creation story and featured comments and poems concerning climate change, population, pollution, read by members of the choir. Prayers were led by Julia Davies and Ian Gane read Chief Seattle's address for 1851. The service ended with Haydn's Creation played on organ by David Allen. There were on display booklets and magazines on environmental issues, and a selection of fairly traded goods to mark Fair Trade Fortnight which ends on March 19.

Heavy rain last Tuesday meant that the Powick Ramblers' walk around St Wulstan's at Malvern was postponed to a later date. However, their annual dinner held at the Retreat, Norton proved a heart-warming occasion. The next walk will be next Friday, March 24, and will start from Cradley Church at 10am. The four mile walk around Cockshot Hill will be led by Joy and Phil Bunyan (01886) 832774.
