MOST towns seek to attract visitors to aid their finances and to add interest. They endeavour to capitalise on their assets and where there were or are major celebrities or institutions of considerable note, they emphasise them.
What happens in Malvern? The theatre is refurbished and is a draw for outsiders so we jettison the name Elgar from the central hall, which is used for classical music concerts among other things.
A man, from Suffolk, looks to draw attention to the home of Morgan, almost the last British car maker and certainly now the most famous. The Conservators ensure the tiny piece of land targeted for a commemorative statue is not made available.
