WEST Malvern entertained second in the table VBL Sports on Saturday and produced one of their best performances of the season.
WEST MALVERN 3, VBL SPORTS 0
Forced to make changes, they had a new strike duo of Dougie Hawes and Anthony Holder and they immediately formed a good combination with the Sports' goalkeeper tested on numerous occasions.
West Malvern finally broke through after 60 minutes when good approach work on the right resulted in Anthony Holder heading home a cross. Within five minutes they had increased the score when once again Holder rounded a defender and goalkeeper to score.
Although VBL sports came back strongly the West Malvern back four, marshalled by Tom Grubb, held firm. With five minutes to go Holder completed his hat-trick when scoring from a through ball.
Tomorrow (Saturday), West Malvern, sponsored by the Cross Keys and Amey, travel to Bromsgrove Corinthians and again are forced to make four changes due to players being unavailable. Players meet the Bakery at 1.30pm.
