THE Radar team left Malvern in a snow storm and didn't relish the trip to Pitchcroft to take on second-in-the-table Bedwardine on Sunday.
BEDWARDINE 3, MALVERN RADAR 4
Just minutes into the game the home side almost took the lead only for Chris Newman to drag his shot wide from in front of goal.
Radar lost forward Joe Davis after just five minutes with an ankle injury and Bedwardine promptly took the lead when Steve Green spilled a long range shot and Newman tapped in.
Sub Steve Harness was soon in action, just failing to control the ball when well-placed and then stinging keeper Jason Addis's hands with a left-foot shot.
Radar levelled the scores on the half hour when Clive Churchill's 25 yard free-kick torpedoed into the top corner.
Darren Loader and Jason Lloyd were tireless in midfield for Radar although it was a bit of a surprise when they went in front. The ball fell to Harness and his reverse pass found Simon Rea, who netted a well-deserved goal.
It got better for Radar when Churchill's free-kick was glanced into his own net by a defender and Andy Bottomley latched onto a flick-on to lob the ball over the advancing keeper to make it 4-1.
There was still 15 minutes to go and the home side hit back. Gary Abercrombie scored following a scramble and then Grant Gibbs rattled the post with a great 20-yard effort. Steve Green somehow kept out another long shot before Gibbs scored a good goal to make it 3-4.
Radar will be looking for a similar performance on Sunday at Victoria Park when Prinner Sports visit, players meet 9.45am.
