SIR - Andrew Brown asks the city council to admit to us what homelessness is costing. However, he will get no reply - any more than he would from our so-called democratic Government if he asked what, say, war, the EU or immigration has cost us since 1997. No politician or journalist dare ask, either.
Knowledge and accurate information are power, Mr Brown, which is why we are denied the truth and led by the nose - like so many other peoples across the world. If we knew the truth we might start voting the 'wrong' way - like Irish people when they voted against EU enlargement or the Palestinians when they voted for Hamas.
In 1997, we tried to vote in a social democratic government and we've tried twice more since then. But our government is nothing of the sort - in fact it's a US capitalist stooge regime. Ask away, Andrew... but just don't expect any honest answers.
JIM EVANS,
Worcester
