THE campaign group opposed to the scheme of transforming Wolverley's Drakelow Tunnels into a training centre for the unemployed is looking for support from other Wyre Forest villagers.
Members of Drakelow Preservation Trust - DPT - are hoping to receive backing from residents in Cookley and Caunsall.
The group hopes to block plans by the Jericho Community Project to convert part of the facility to a skills centre.
Andy Cox, spokesman for the DPT, said: "We want to make sure people know what is going on. A lot of residents are unaware of the plans and still think it will be an Eden Project creating 400 jobs. This is simply not the case."
Members of DPT, which elected members last week, met with Jericho represntatives on Friday to discuss the issue.
During the meeting an official bid to buy the site was made, which is now "being considered" by management at the charity.
Representatives from DPT and Jericho are meeting with Wyre Forest MP, Dr Richard Taylor, at the site tomorrow to discuss the issue.
