POLICE are appealing for information after a driver's windscreen was damaged by youths throwing stones at the vehicle.

A taxi was being driven along Castle Road, near the former Zanzibar nightclub when two youths beside the canal threw a brick at the window of the Mercedes Vito.

The incident, which caused around £300 worth of damage, happened just before 8pm on Tuesday, February 14.

A force spokeswoman said: "Throwing stones at a vehicle is exceptionally dangerous and could injure the occupants of the vehicle or cause the driver to lose control."
