TRAVELLING to work the green way will become easy for one council employee who won himself a top-notch mountain bike after taking part in a survey.
Philip Instan, an HGV lorry driver for Worcester City Council, won the bike after answering questions about his travel habits.
His name was drawn from more than 250 entrants to walk away with the prize.
"Despite being an HGV driver I enjoy getting out on two wheels," he said. "I usually travel on a moped but this bike will give me the added bonus of getting some extra exercise."
The survey will help develop policies for the Worcester Choose How You Move project - a scheme designed to encourage more walking, public transport and car sharing.
The project is led by the county council and has a budget of £3.5m over five years. Its aim is to cut traffic congestion in the county.
City council leader Coun Stephen Inman said: "The motor car plays a hugely important role in modern society but it's also important that we provide and promote all the alternatives that are available to us. Clearly there are many journeys made by car that could be made using other methods."
