MALVERN sea cadets rode on the crest of a wave as they celebrated another successful annual inspection.
The youngsters were greeted by inspecting officer, Com mander Josh Binns, who made a quick tour of their base.
The special evening kicked off with inspection of the guard, then prayers, refreshments and a presentation.
Petty officer Gareth Thomas, officer-in-charge at Malvern, said he was extremely proud of the youngsters.
He said: "With increasing concerns about our community's environment and the challenging social issues of young people within, it is more important than ever that youth organisations restore the belief of older people that youths can, and will, respond to discipline.
"My team at Malvern unit volunteers a huge amount of time, effort and resources, throughout the year in a bid to support those special young people who make proactive decisions to enable their own futures.
"A cadet's time in Malvern Sea Cadets is full of opportunity and, if embraced, develops sustainable life skills that are built on traditional core values and fun," he said.
"The annual inspection was a chance for outsiders to witness a snapshot view of these workings."
