I AM writing to bring to readers' attention the fact that a group of ex-soldiers who served with the First and Second Battalions Mercian Volunteers are beginning to meet at The Shrubbery, Birmingham Road, Kidderminster, on a social basis for a drink and chat over old times.
This is by kind permission of the officer commanding B Company West Midlands Regiment and the Mercian Volunteers Regimental Association.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday, March 7 at The Shrubbery, from about 9pm.
The intention is eventually to form a local branch of the Mercian Volunteers Association.
Anyone who has served with Mercian Volunteers is very welcome to attend and renew old friendships.
