THE February speaker was Mike McQuade, on the history of guide dogs for the blind.
With him was his labrador/retriever cross guide dog, and he said what a difference Zante had made to his life.
He described how dogs are chosen, puppy walked and trained, then matched to their blind masters for height and temperament.
Mr McQuade was trained to care for and feed Zante, and how to use the special harness.
As there is no government funding available, the society relies on legacies and fund-raising.
Moya Jones will talk about "Egg decorating" on March 13 at Shaw Hedge Road community centre, Bewdley, at 7.15pm.
