CREWS from Evesham brought home the medals again last weekend.
Two junior boys crews blazed down the Worcester Head of the River course in winning times and there was also a surprise win for the men's veteran C crew.
A bitterly cold day saw a chill wind blowing down the 5,800m course - although happily in the right direction to help crews home!
First up was the J15 coxed quad of Oli Staite, Rory Sullivan, Will Tew and James Crumpton, coxed by Dan Barnes.
The boys soon warmed up with a steady rate set by Staite at stroke and, despite a minor collision with a women's novice eight, the crew stormed home in a time of 21 minutes and 40 seconds to win with 15 seconds to spare from St Geo-rge's College.
The J14 coxed quad of Ben Farrar, Jon Farrar, Jordan Bunyan, Tom Noble and cox Rob Barnett were also in winning form with a time of 23.54 well over three minutes ahead of closest rivals Royal Shrewsbury School.
The veteran's coxed four of Bill Sullivan, Tony Rowlands, Dave Pollard, Andrew Longan and cox Sarah Fisher admitted to being "gobsmacked'" after their victory in a winning time of 23.17.
An Eight, crewed by J15 and 16 boys, put in an excellent technical row to clock 22.19. That achievement was excellent given that they are having to row at J16 level - a year above for six of the boys and bodes well for next year.
