SIR - Further to the article regarding vandalism in our village, (February 14) and the reply by Coun Tom Wells (February 23), I fully agree with Tom on all points, a policeman on foot is a rare sight indeed, in fact.
I haven't seen one since the old police house in Powick closed and was sold. I recall the days of PC Wilson who cycled round and kept an eye on everything.
Another problem as mentioned was speeding traffic - 30mph signs are completely ignored. Should we see a policeman, it is usually in a car - dashing through the village with sirens blaring.
