RECENTLY, following a fall in our house, my wife was taken to the A and E Department of Cheltenham Hospital by a very quick and efficient ambulance. We had expected that she would be patched up in an hour or so, but her wounds had to be stitched after cleaning, and we spent some six hours in the A and E Department.
I feel that we cannot let this episode simply pass into history without recording our enormous gratitude to all the nurses and the doctor who will long remain in our memory for their kindness and efficiency that day. After a somewhat traumatic time, one of the nurses valiantly cleaned the blood from my wife's head, and then even combed her hair out, so that it looked more presentable.
In these days when complaints seem to flow freely, we are pleased to be able to say a big thank you to A and E Cheltenham Hospital.
MR CLARKE, The Old Forge, Evenlode, Moreton.
