KIDDERMINSTER and Stourport Athletics Club chairman Bob Ashwood is standing down.
Ashwood has made the decision because of his sports commitments at a national level.
Vice-chairman Joe Dourneen has been appointed as his successor.
Ashwood has held the position for five years since the merger of Kidderminster Running Club and Stourport Athletics Club.
During his tenure he has helped membership increase to more than 150.
His decision to step aside was announced at the recent annual meeting.
Also at the meeting the treasurer reported a healthy cash flow balance.
Subscriptions for using changing rooms and track facilities were frozen again for the fourth successive year.
Following requests from members of the public the Women's Initiative 10-week running course for beginners will be held from the start of March. Contact Sue Saunders on 01562 861431 for details.
Each Tuesday at 6pm athletes of all abilities from the age of nine is welcome at the club to discuss joining in with road running, track or field events

Christine Sedman-Smith, a member of the senior ladies section of Kidderminster and Stourport Athletics Club, competed in a charity event, the Breakthrough Breast Cancer 6km Road Race, coming eighth in a field of more than 450.
In the Wyre Forest eight-mile event, Emma Hornby took the senior ladies prize, in 31st place in 57 minutes 47 seconds.
Dave Hunt was the first club member to complete this race in 12th place and fourth male over 40, recording 54-12.
Other club athletes to complete: 187 Pat Fletcher one hour-2-33, 233 Mick Hudson 1-16-24.
