BROMSGROVE School's under-18s indoor girls' hockey side was officially ranked as one of the country's top teams after reaching the finals of the National Championships.
The team battled through the group stages to reach the final of the tournament, where they were edged 3-2 by winner Sutton Hockey Club.
The team, which clinched a place in the national finals after winning the Midlands Championship, opened the tournament by defeating Chelmsord 6-2. They then came from a goal down to beat Millfield School 4-1.
Bromsgrove suffered a set back by losing 5-3 to Wycombe High School but bounced back and sealed a place in the semi-finals by beating Ashville College 6-0.
Against St George's in the last four Bromsgrove streaked to a 4-0 lead, before their opponents hit back with three goals.
But Bromsgrove stepped up a gear and won 6-3. Up against Sutton in the final Bromsgrove battled hard but were edged out.
