KIDDERMINSTER Carolians under-14s go into Sunday's North Mids Plate semi-final in confident mood after a 24-0 win over Hereford.
But they will be without star player Charlie Evans whose serious injury took the gloss off the result.
Before he was stretchered off with an ankle broken in two places, Evans had exerted his influence with two tries.
Hereford's rucking and mauling tested KCs but they resisted well,
And a packs try claimed by both Scott Mundie and Ewan Thompson extended their lead.
Will Short, who kicked two conversions, combined with Josh Bennett for the final try.
KCs under-12s emerged from a titanic struggle at Hereford with a 10-5 victory.
They came from behind to win with tries from Johnny Mockett and Sam Bills.
Strong forward play and confident passing from KCs under-11s were the key as they defeated Hereford 19-7.
Chris Beddall bagged a brace and Aaron Pooler also scored with Francesca Short and Alex Howman kicking conversions.
A hat-trick of tries from Ryan Hatton was not enough to prevent KCs under-10s losing 20-15 to Hereford.
And they lost the second game 15-10 despite taking a two-try lead through Mark Desogus and Tom Phipps.
KCs under-eights ran out 40-30 and 30-25 winners over Hereford.
Elliot Murphy led the way with four tries.
Other scorers: Tom Ford 3, Sam Faulkner 3, Ben Pinner 2, Bradley Hughes 1, David Woodward 1.
It was honours even as KCs under-sevens played out two draws with Hereford.
There were several good tries with good defence showing the improvement in the team.
