THE Crusader Worcestershire Cricket League will have a new look for the 2006 season as well as a host of new clubs.
Pershore will be returning to Division One after a stint in the Birmingham and District League and Monmouth, Wormelow and a Colwall Third XI will be joining the new-look Division Three South.
Evesham and Halesowen have entered Third and Fourth XIs into Divisions Six and Eight respectively, while Astwood Bank and Romsley have put Third XIs -- and Barnt Green a Fourth XI -- into Division Eight.
Last year's Division One champions Ombersley have been promoted to the Birmingham League.
Divisions One and Two will remain the same, while Division Three is now split into a northern and southern section. There will now be 10 teams in Division Four and Divisions Five to Eight will all have eight teams.
This allows a new Saturday Knock-out Cup for teams in Division Five to Eight. Rounds one and two of the competition will take place on May 6 and 13. The 45-over tournament is then concluded in September after the league fixtures have finished.
Division Three teams' season starts on April 22, while Divisions One and Two start on April 29. The rest of the league commence on May 6.
The league committee have also agreed to limit relegation from Division Two to four clubs in 2006.
Therefore, if all three Worcestershire clubs are relegated from the Birmingham League, four clubs will be relegated from Division One and only the champions promoted from Division Three North and South.
