TWO players from Bromsgrove helped England teams to victory in the latest rounds of the RBS Six Nations over the weekend.
Former Bromsgrove pupil Matthew Mullan was part of the England under-19s side that trounced Scotland 36-5 on Saturday.
Former South Bromsgrove High School pupil Jordan Crane started as England under-21s ran riot to beat Scotland 49-22 on Friday, February 24. The under-21s were far too strong for Scotland at Falkirk Stadium.
Crane began the match and played a key role as he watched team mates Ben Foden (2), Thom Evans (2) and Anthony Allen touch down.
The under-21s made a fine start, with Allen crossing after just six minutes from Lamb's late pass. The score gave England the impetus to control the game.
Coach Dorian West said: "We had a good week in training and we had our game-plan but we hadn't bargained on the strong wind."
"We made some mistakes and conceded some points but we also played some excellent rugby.
"We needed to play the style we worked on and when we did that we got the job done."
Victory means that England go into the next game against France on Saturday, March 11 at Perpigneux RFC to decide where the championship will head.
Mullan came on as a substitute in the 51st minute as England under-19s comfortably overcame Scotland.
England were too strong for Scotland and Danny Care and Andrew Saull bagged two tries each. Oliver Dodge and Daniel Cipriani completed the rout in the second half. The under-19s now take on Ireland on Friday, March 17, at the NEC Harlequins.
