IT was two in, two out at the Valley Stadium this week as Redditch United manager Gary Whild shuffled his side ahead of two crucial games in three days.

And the Reds boss is keeping tabs on a third player who could bolster the Bromsgrove Road club's bid to climb clear of the drop zone.

First out of the door was midfielder Steve Palmer who stunned Whild by signing for Unibond League outfit AFC Telford United. He had made his Reds debut just three days earlier.

"Steve told me that Telford were interested," the manager said.

"He played for them before and loves the club. I told him that if his heart wasn't in playing for Redditch then we would not stand in his way.

"It was disappointing because I thought he did well in the game he played against Hinckley."

Daire Doyle has also left the club on a loan deal that will see him link up with Bromsgrove Rovers and former manager Rod Brown for a number of games.

But Whild has also been busy bringing in two new additions.

Striker Richard Adams signed in time to make his debut as a substitute against Alfreton Town at the weekend while defender Vaughan Thomas goes into the squad for Saturday's trip to Conference North promotion hopefuls Droylesden.

"Vaughan is a big lad and capable of slotting into a number of different positions," Whild explained.

The United boss is also hoping to have Jermaine Clarke back in contention for the double header with Droylesden and Monday's trip to county rivals Worcester City as his contract dispute nears conclusion.

He is also in talks with City over a loan deal for midfielder Jai Stanley.
