THERE is a growing body of opinion against the unbridled growth and sameness of cities and small rural towns.
It seems Droitwich Spa is now well and truly on the same path.
O little town of Droitwich,
How sadly will you change.
Big bucks are coming to the Spa,
And big bucks feet can range.
They've crushed our favourite Facets,
And the elegant jewellery shop,
The hardware store, chopped down our trees,
When will they ever stop?
There are different kinds of mugging,
This one was done almost by stealth,
The familiar bulldozers are on their way,
Now driven by corporate wealth.
It might be of interest to note that 1,200 customers a week visited Facets Caf. They were not all locals.
