FINSTALL WI's first meeting of 2006 was well attended. President Jill Findon hoped that the programme for 2006 will have something for everyone. Jerusalem was sung and the minutes were read by secretary Mary Limmer, one of two secretaries, Ann Parr being the other. Names were taken for the annual council meeting in Malvern in March. Ann Widdecombe MP being the guest speaker, six members hope to attend. Our members feel that next year's subscription (2007) is rather high and a discussion took place about that. Our president Jill Findon welcomed Garth Lowe, speaker for the afternoon, showing us slides of the Dordogne and Pyrenees.
Tea was provided by Mabel Cartwright with help from Betty Chapman and members. Mabel also provided the flowers.
The competition, for a French item, was won by Mabel. Janet Sable was second with Ann Parr third. The door prize was won by Pat Wilkes. New members are very welcome. We meet in Finstall Village Hall on the first Monday of the month at 2.15pm.
