A TARDEBIGGE church will welcome a star to its congregation on Sunday when Pete Waterman leads the service of morning prayer.
Churchwarden at St Bartholomew's Church Michael Price said the Pop Idol judge, railway buff and music mogul was an acquaintance of his and had agreed to come and talk at the service.
He said Mr Waterman would talk to churchgoers about his passion for hymns and choirs, as the first in a programme of guest speakers at the School Lane church.
"There is a normal morning service but instead of a sermon, there will be a talk by Pete," he said.
"We just thought we would bring in someone from outside and make a fresh breeze - it's nice someone of his personality did not hesitate."
The service starts at 11am and everyone is welcome to attend.
Mr Price said: "They do not have to be regulars, we welcome anyone with open arms and they will have a chance to meet Pete afterwards."
