RESIDENTS mourning the loss of a loved one can look forward to a new service based in the town.
National bereavement charity Cruse is setting up a monthly surgery at the Sandycroft Centre in West Avenue, Smallwood, allowing people to book appointments with a counsellor directly at the centre.
Cruse spokesman Pauline Murrell said it was being set up to deal with the problem of not being able to see people quick enough.
She said the service would run in the afternoons, starting on March 17, and then would be on offer every four weeks for people who had not really recovered from a loss or who were finding it hard to cope.
"It's just to let the public know they can ring straight through to Sandycroft and make an appointment direct with Cruse counsellors," she said.
To make an appointment, call 595135.
