BROMSGROVE Golf Centre's junior coaching programme received the stamp of approval from the sport's governing bodies.HOLE LOT OF WORK WITH CHILDREN: Bromsgrove Golf Centre director Philip Morris (left) celebrates Bromsgrove's Golf Mark award with regional development officer Sharon Heeley and captain David Smallwood.
The Stratford Road centre was given the Junior Golf Mark award after its junior set up passed a series of hard tests.
The award is given out by English Golf Union (EGU) and English Ladies Golf Association (ELGA).
Regional development officer Sharon Heeley had to scrutinise coaching and playing, the club's environment and child protection and duty of care.
She said: "Bromsgrove's submission was exemplary and of the very highest standard. It recognises its commitment to junior golf and also serves to help cultivate well-coached, committed and educated juniors who may become adult members in the future."
