THE AGM of the Alcester branch was held on Wednesday, January 25, at Spingfields, Hertford Road, Alcester.
Chairman Sue Adams reviewed the year and reported two successful social events had been held but most time had been devoted to the local and general elections, which took place in May, and to the election of a new party leader later in the year.
A programme of events was being planned for the year ahead and would be announced later.
Paul Martin was adopted as the Conservative candidate for the forthcoming district council elections.
Officers elected were: Chairman: Sue Adams; deputy chairman (political): Frank Clark; secretary: Diana Wheeler; treasurer: Marian Crabtree; press officer: Jackie Clark; committee members: Tim Barnsdale and Sylvia Hyde.
