A BUNCH of energetic friends will be getting into a lather at a charity car wash later this month.
Julie Senior, Rachel Walmsley, Julie Ingram and Sharon Clarke will be joining firefighters at Redditch Fire Station in Birmingham Road for the money-spinner on Saturday, March 18.
The four friends, otherwise known as "The Hopeful Honeys", have organised the event to help them raise the £1,500 they each need to take part in Aviva Weekend for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
The two-day event will see hundreds of walkers trek across Birmingham to raise cash for the prevention and cure of breast cancer. A similar event in London last year raised £5.4 million for the cause.
As well as holding the car wash, which runs from 10.30am-2.30pm, they are looking for town businesses to offer donations and sponsorship.
Team member Julie Senior of Chedworth Close, Church Hill, said: "The walk is taking place in September but we need to arrange all the sponsorship money first and would be really grateful for any help we can get."
She also said they were planning a handful of fundraisers this spring to boost the coffers.
