THE first meeting of 2006 organised by the Redditch and Alcester group saw Richard Icke make a return visit to present a show called Steam Around the Regions.
Most of the photographs had been taken from 1961-64 and the first part covered the West Coast main line of the Midland Region, starting at the old Birmingham New Street (with the Rotunda under construction in the background) and going north through Crewe to Carlisle and Glasgow.
The second part started at the old Snow Hill and went via the Western Region to Paddington and then across to Brighton, Bournemouth and the Isle of Wight on the Southern Region and then back on the
Western via Bristol, Hereford, Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton to the new Snow Hill .
