WARRIORS head coach Anthony Eddy believes Shane Drahm is "there or thereabouts" in terms of selection for the England senior side.
Drahm has already made his bow for the England 'A' squad and performed well in their victory in Italy at the start of the month.
He then produced a faultless kicking display last Friday as Warriors almost pulled off a shock victory against Leicester Tigers.
And that performance, under the watchful eye of England head coach Andy Robinson, prompted Eddy to suggest Drahm was not too far down the pecking order.
"There's a lot of good fly-halves," he said. "Charlie Hodgson is a class act and you look at Andy Goode's performance (against Worcester). Shane played very well but so did Andy.
"I'm not too sure what's happening with Jonny Wilkinson at the moment but I think Shane is there or thereabouts. He has got to continue to play well and be very consistent.
"I thought Shane had a much better game. He kicked us around the field pretty well. When he did play with the ball he did pretty well with it. I thought it was a good try by Dale Rasmussen so I would imagine (Robinson) would be pretty happy with Shane."
Another Worcester player with international aspirations is number eight Drew Hickey who, like Drahm, was born in Australia.
But Hickey has an Irish father and would be eligible to play for Eddie O'Sullivan's side if picked.
"The situation hasn't changed," said Hickey. "Apart from the fact some of their guys are playing quite well in the back-row."
The Warriors star admits he would be tempted to answer the call if O'Sullivan was to get in touch.
"Ultimately, why you want to play rugby is to push yourself to another level and see how you perform, get out there and see if you can mix it with those sort of players."
But Hickey has not altogether ruled out returning to Australia later in his career.
"That is obviously something I would have to take into consideration if that did come up," he said.
"Because my wife is Australian and potentially we would maybe look to go back and have a couple of years back in Australia. So that's definitely a big factor."
